Clayton Lewis is an Emeritus Professor of Computer Science at the University of Colorado Boulder, best known for co-developing the thinking aloud method and the cognitive walkthrough, both standard practices in user interface evaluation.
- Elected to the ACM CHI Academy (2009) and awarded the ACM CHI Social Impact Award (2011) for work on assistive technology for people with cognitive, language, and learning disabilities
- Named CU President's Teaching Scholar in 1989, a lifetime title representing the university's highest teaching honor
- PhD in experimental psychology from the University of Michigan; also holds a BA in mathematics from Princeton and an MS from MIT
